Thalassemia is the common genetic disease which can become global threat unless its spreading is effectively controlled. Prevention and control program for thalassemia has been set up in several countries, especially countries which are highly prevalent with carrier, but it has not been yet successful in Southeast Asian such as Thailand due to the lack of field-related experts and supporting facilities. Since the thalassemia knowledge is highly complex and needs several specific areas of expertise, such as genetic analysis and interpretation of blood test, training sufficient number of thalassemic paramedical personnels cannot be done in short time. To expedite the process, a supporting system is the must for assisting healthcare provider on making a decision or interpretation as reference knowledge.
